As part of Norwegian International Wind Festival The Brazz Brothers will play with the acclaimed jazztrombonist Jiggs Wigham as guest soloist. It happens in Trondheim at Dokkhuset Thursday 3 April at 1800 (buy tickets).
Jiggs Wigham started his career in the United States in the early 1960s, where he played with Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennett, Dexter Gordon and Lee Konitz – to name a few. In 1965 he settled in Germany where he recent years has worked as a studio musician, freelance jazz performer and sought-after teacher. He has been part of the leading orchestras such as Big Band Of Kurt Edelhagen, Peter Herbolzheimer Band, Bert Kaempfert Orch., Etc.. Today he travels around the world as a soloist and guest professor at several universities. He is currently leader of the BBC Big Band in the UK and artistic director of the Berlin Jazz Orchestra.
